I’m always amazed by the amount of women I meet in the construction industry in India – it is not unusual to see a bare foot, saree clad teenager climbing a ladder with a hod of bricks over one shoulder and a child on the other. I wonder how it is physically possible, I don’t even think a man could pull off such a feat in the UK. The women building site workers of India are amazing, perhaps a worthy follow up to this fine series?
